Michael T. Trese, MD Professorship of Pediatric Retinal Research

at Oakland University (Rochester, MI)

Widely recognized as the father of modern pediatric vitreoretinal surgery, Dr. Trese was a pioneer whose groundbreaking work helped shape the field and transform care for children with retinal disease. Tell him something couldn’t be done, and he treated it as a personal challenge, working with relentless creativity, diligence, and humor until he found a way through.

In partnership with Oakland University William Beaumont School of Medicine (OUWB), PRRF is proud to build upon Dr. Trese’s innovative contributions to pediatric retinal research.

Please join us in honoring Dr. Trese’s legacy.

Given its rare nature, investment in pediatric retinal research remains low. Yet the need is profound.
